Friends or Friendstumers? The business lenses

Intro.... Chai!, Bad English!, you think so right? Well, awakening to a new day with a host of experiences is the motivation behind the new Word (FRIENDSTUMERS). Don't bother checking the Oxford, Longman or any of your favorite, popular dictionaries as the response to your enquiry lie within you. It is a name coined to represent those friends who help your business grow. Caution If you do not have a business mindset, you may find the next lines offensive and boring. However, with a great conscience, you just might tag along with the message as you may find them useful too. Friends or Customers? We all have these many friends to whom we are connected. You put up a post of yourself partying or doing some great stuff and all the comments flowing in from left, right and centre on social media. That can be so fulfilling to be sincere. Such fulfillment that lasts for a few minutes or at most, a few days. Have you thought about reaching the pinnacle of your fulfillment t

The Dark Sunshine

THE DARK SUNSHINE The sun rises with a smile on the world signalling hope of a bright day ahead To my people, it's the sign of the darkness aloom Day by day, the sun sets overhead Same sun covers us with shades all through For my people, it's the night all day The rage of fear cutting across the land As every new day emerges Most often followed by bloodletting Oh! how inhumane the rampaging buffoons can be! Spilling sacred waters of the innocent without caution yet some remind us of the sunshine and it's bright light In the brightness of the sun Darkness still wins the challenge So poor this is allowed to blossom Oh, i long for the moon Shone in the darkest of times Bringing hope of glad times ahead The wait for the moon continues till the bones and flesh get dried and rotten What an endless wait The light seems dim, hopeless But we will ever commit to the source of light behind the sun To Him we ask, when will succour come?

The Monkey Village

Image
The Monkey Village The village, inhabited by monkeys So it sounds like the dangling bunch of keys Can we take a walk, as long as you please? Here are a people, loving and happy The source of happiness, a mystery Holed up in a buzzling city, like a frog in the mid sea Hunger spread across the households And shelter remains a mirage waking up daily with no hope of the sunshine Hmmm, are you still on this walk? Tomorrow's leaders in their large numbers Abandoned just like tomorrow doesn't matter Little Juliet, so bright and intelligent With so much hope and anxiety Wants to help sick people get well Among the many few Innocent's dreams remain valid As valid as mine, who is not even innocent Juliet and Innocent Tomorrow's doctor and lawyer Along with many great potentials, still waiting to get a future When will a lost people be so remembered And not abandoned like the monkeys Who wander in a treeless desert A conglomerate of tribes and religions

My position on the role of Nigerian youths

Image
At the 1st Ikorodu Division Youth Summit, I had the opportunity to speak my truth when permitted to give my 2cents on youth inclusiveness in governance & community development. "Youths can get involved as stakeholders in governance & community development in various ways asides contesting elective positions at general elections." Most of us urgently need to become active as voters, advocates, trainers, trainees, employers, employees and perfect role models for the younger generation. We need to use our internet space more productively. Let's abandon frivolities like fake news/hoax messages, pornography, internet fraud E.T.C for more productive activities that will better our lot as individuals and collectively as a Nation. We also need to position ourselves to ask vital questions from our elected officers in various capacities. Those, including the appointed ones MUST remain accountable to the people and display transparency as a core value in the running of

MY SI4DEV ABUJA SUMMIT STORY!

Image
As an emerging community development strategist, the last few days has been very important for me as i attended the #SI4DEVSummit2018 Themed: "Achieving Community Led development through community driven development projects". As a SI4DEV Partner, having passed through rigorous training & mentoring sessions, i had the opportunity to meet and learn from other development actors across Nigeria. Some of these persons have inspired me greatly. Let me share with you some of the things you missed. 1. Interactive sessions with amazing facilitators 2. Breakout sessions 3. One-on-One mentoring sessions 4. Case studies of properly executed community driven development projects by SI4DEV partners across Nigeria 5 Panel discussions 6. Networking Opportunities 7. Hospitality at its peak 8. Awards 9. Motivation for redirection. Well, let me briefly say that what inspired me mostly at the event was the amazing way the Kano team led by Babatunde Ibikunle Esq. were able t

Why i get angry when i hear Mala......

Image
I GET ANGRY WHEN I HEAR, MALA**A Sunday 25/11/2018, I led a team of young medical professionals on a 1-day medical outreach aimed at dealing a blow on Malaria, and helping the Isale-Eko community improve their health consciousness. Well, that's not a big deal na! Why should I even mention it? Sincerely, this is my 5th year of Organizing /Coordinating similar community outreaches. This one just finds it's way into that pain which i have long hidden from childhood as tears were gonna roll out of my eyelids, lids well suited for a strong man like this....Imagine! An aged woman in the community said in Yoruba, "Aisan Malaria lasan lasan", meaning "Ordinary Malaria disease"; well, no be lie na! At least many of us in Nigeria have Malaria and it does nothing to us na! Chai, that statement rang a bell of a Genius, called to dine with the earth just in his prime. Let me not bore you with the long story.... My mother, a proud mum of 3 boys..We used to call
